Shimmery Grey and Black using UD Naked

This is a look that I've been wearing a lot lately and loving!  I typically use brown shades for a neutral look, but I've really been into experimenting with the darker shades in the Naked palette to create a different type of neutral look using shimmery steels and glittery blacks, that I think is simple enough to wear during the day but is defining enough at night.  I love to pair this eye look with a peachy-pink blush and my favorite shimmery coral lipstick, which adds warmth to contrast with the cool-toned eyes

Springtime Shimmery Purples

Today was supposed to be 71 and sunny, but instead was 51, overcast, and all-around just a gloomy day.  I decided I felt in more of a springtime brights mood, so this shimmery pastel purple did the trick to liven my mood a bit!  I used the e.l.f. Everyday Brights palette and added an iridescent shimmer on top to add some dimension.  I completed the look with peachy-pink cheeks and a neutral lip.  When going this bright on the eyes, I normally would just wear plain clothing with such a bright eye (like just a white t-shirt), but it was so dreadfully dreary today that I just had to pull out my bright scarf to complete my cheery look! :)

I was fortunate to have been able to snag the Urban Decay Naked palette when it was first released last summer and was recently inspired to do more looks with it lately!  I love rich bronze colors with my blue eyes, and so I did this today and paired it with peach on the cheeks and lips, with an added pink gloss on top.

Purple and Grey using Elf Shadows

I came across some new Elf Cosmetics eyeshadow palettes in Target and decided to experiment with one of them today.  I used the Brights Palette.  Ironically enough, to create this look I came up with a look more muted than a "brights" palette would indicate that one would do!  I blame it on the gloomy day outside, which this makeup seemed to match perfectly. :)

Loreal HIP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner 960 Eggplant (deep purple with slight metallic finish) I patted this on the lid as a base for the shadows to stick to and to bring out the purple since I was using so many grays.  I also lined the upper lashline after eyeshadows were applied with this liner.

Navy Blue Smoke N Sparkle

Sometimes it is fun to experiment with something other than black when creating a dark look.  Today I decided to play with navy blue along with some dark greys to give it that smokey effect.  To keep it fun, I added an iridescent loose shadow on top of the navy blue so it would sparkle!  I paired this with a peach cheek and nude lips to warm it up a bit since the eyes were so cool-toned.

Purple Eye and Nude Lip

I really love purples but sometimes struggle to find what shade of purple looks good with my skin tone.  I will admit that at times I end up looking like I got socked in the eye and have to start all over!  Here I have combined a warm-toned purple on the lid (applied over a gold base), cool-toned purple in the crease, and a dark (near-black) purple with gold shimmer to darken up the edge of the eye.  I find if I use a slightly golden white shimmery highlight on the inner corners it helps to keep it not so "socked-in-the-eye" looking!  I experimented with both a nude lip and slightly pink lip, but I will admit I liked the nude lip best in person for this look.
